5 A story of boldness and courage

A beautiful and compelling story about a young girl, who despite everything does not only manage to run away from one of the most closed states in the world, but also helps her mother and brother do the same and reach South Korea. Hyeonseo Lee is definitely a very strong person and a great example to inspire many others.

Aside from casting light on life in North Korea, the book also uncovers some of the very unpleasant things about how dysfunctional diplomacy sometimes can be and how people are ready to betray others for the sake of money. But at the same time it tells an absolutely wonderful story of complete strangers that help others for no reason.
