Camden mortuary assistant Cassie Raven has spent her life thinking that her parents were killed in a car accident when she was four. It's one of the reasons why she has such an affinity for the dead and why she has gone into forensic science.

But now she has discovered that what she thought she knew isn't the truth at all. The truth is that her father killed her mother and up until a few years ago, he was in prison for murder.
