With the high-ranking Time Lord Seratrix behind enemy lines, the War Doctor finds himself assigned to a rescue mission. But any room for manoeuvre is severely restricted by an area of space known as the Null Zone.

Times have changed on Keska, and a countdown to destruction is beginning.

But who are the Taalyens and what is their part in the great and terrifying Dalek plan?

1.3 The Heart of the Battle

Trapped in a citadel swarming with Daleks, the Time Lord rescue force must find a way to overcome insurmountable odds. With the Daleks apparently planning to rule the Null Zone, perhaps their thirst for universal conquest and victory has been quenched…

Climate change has turned the landscape into a freezing wasteland and an alien power has condemned much of the population to life inside internment camps. Soon, the Doctor and Molly find themselves thrown headlong into a series of dangerous and terrifying adventures, with the dreaded Daleks never far behind them.

Nothing has ever been officially confirmed, but there is a rumour that on a Sandminer, bound for Kaldor City, the robots somehow turned homicidal and nearly wiped out the entire crew. Can that really be true?

The robot transport ship Lorelei has a cargo of over 157,000 robots on board, all deactivated. So even if there were any truth in the rumour of that massacre, there'd still be no danger. Surely, there wouldn't...

But then, the Doctor witnesses a murder.

A little boy is taking a bath. He is nervous that someone might come in, but then he hears a reassuring voice in the hallway.

The TARDIS crew is enjoying a rare holiday on the Isle of Wight. The beach is deserted, as most people are indoors watching the Moon landing of 1969.

Jamie and Zoe play in the sand and water. The Doctor decides to get an ice cream. On the way, he encounters the boy, and they talk. The boy is not interested in the moon landing. The Doctor thinks the boy should tell his parents where he is, and the boy heads for home. Suddenly he is hit by a car, and the Doctor sees that his legs are broken beyond repair.

In the far future, the Earth is dying. And The Viyrans seem to have a vested interest in its plight.
