After having gone away to experience the wonder of a snowy weekend, a family – a mother, father and their 10-year-old son – is caught in a blizzard. Meanwhile, at a nearby farm, a cattle dog is working, driving her forty head of cattle from pasture to corral and back again. The family is trapped outside, disorientated in the whiteout. They are panicked, exhausted, freezing and stranded in waist-deep snowdrifts. From a distance, the cattle dog hears their faint cries and her inexhaustible attention turns to saving them. This moving tale is both a compelling story of survival and a meditation on the tremendous will of humans' best friend.
