The cover claims that this book is must-read both for patients and doctors. I do not know whether this book will be interesting for a lay person, because I am medical student, but as a patient I appreciated the described advices. It was a bit scary to realize that medicine is not exact at all, and even computer cannot give a precise interpretation of your scans. On the other hand, this uncertainty shows the beauty of human nature.

"How doctors think" describes medical errors and possible ways of avoiding them. Professors usually do not teach such things, focusing more on academic knowledge. But exactly this information convinces you in necessity of head-to-toe examination, longer consultations, more systematic approach to radiology, and attention to the story, told by a patient. Exactly this information shows why blaming is not effective at all. The book covers major medical spheres, such as radiology, pediatrics, oncology, surgery, and internal medicine.
