5 „Hate was eternal, but above all, so was love”

This is such a beautiful story about war, friendship and love. I enjoyed reading every chapter and every sentence. This book contains both: fiction, made by imagination of the author, and historical facts. Thatʼs what makes it so great. You read and you can learn more about Italy and her history, but not just as facts, but as things that effected the people's lives in different ways.

The characters are described very well, I could almost see them and talk to them, during my reading. I was admired with courageous Elisabetta, she had to go through so many hard and painful situations, but she did not give up. I loved Sandro and Marco,  competing for the attention of their friend Elisabetta, but at the same time being the best friends.

This book made me think: If there would be no war, no Fascists, no Nazis, and no Holocaust, how could people knew what the real friendship is? How would we learn that „hate is eternal, but above all, so is love”?

I also learned a lot about Italian food, which was so nice. Iʼd said the book is perfect, and it's annotation is completely true. I hope one day it will be translated  into Russian (it is my native language) and more people are able to read it.

And, please, pardon me, if there was some mistakes in my review, I'm still learning the beautiful language.
