Inspired by the War of the Roses, George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series is an ongoing fantasy series set in an unstable world, saturated in political rivalries amongst many aristocratic families. I liked that the story is told by switching the point of view of different characters.
In an attempt to do something new and different with the genre, Martin takes a hard-edged & unromantic approach to fantasy, focusing on realism, grittiness and intrigue over heroism, ideals and morality. Unfortunately, it ends up being just another addition to the endless quasi-medieval, class-conscious fantasy of blonde princesses and barely dressed women at the feet of white-skinned heroes. And we all know how it is show in so famous and loved by many "Game of Thrones" - modern fantasy porn.…

То, что не вошло в предыдущие рецензии. Special Edition “Сегодня утром на рынке парикмахерша укусила продавщицу чебуреков. Звучит, как синопсис «Игры престолов»» - это я как-то раз услышала по радио.
Узнала фандом относительно недавно. Хотела написать сначала «Я в фандоме недавно», но не могу причислять себя к его участникам, хоть и пишу иногда по данной категории. Как говорила Раневская (если она и вправду это говорила): «Я, как яйца, участвую, но не вхожу». Так вот, меня поражает, как люди, которые в этом фандоме годами, всё ещё верят и составляют теории по поводу Азор Ахая или того, кто в итоге сядет на ЖТ (железный трон). Удивило, потому что… у меня возникли противоположные мысли. Коротко говоря, я, когда начала читать первую книгу, подумала, что на жт не сядет никто, а когда…
